The 32nd Annual Choreography oN THE EDGE LIVE performances August 20, 21, 22.
Choreography on the Edge is an annual showcase in Woodstock, NY offering choreographers an opportunity to bring new work to premiere. Since the late 1980's, COTE has encouraged choreographers to explore uncharted territory and bring experimental work to the stage.
COTE 2021 will offer a stipend of $200 to each participating choreographer. There is no cost to apply. There is no fee offered for housing, travel or rehearsal space, but recommendations can be offered by request. Choreographers must utilize dancers of professional performance capacity who are 18 years or older. We ask that dancers do not perform in more than one choreographer's piece. Solo works must not exceed 5 minutes. Group works must not exceed 10 minutes. Choreographer's may only present one work. Persons who identify as being part of a demographic that is under-resourced or under-represented will be prioritized.
Choreographers and Dancers must be available for:
Tech Rehearsals to be scheduled in collaboration with the choreographer for the week of August 16th.
Dress Rehearsal: August 19th, 8pm.
Performances: August 20th 8pm, 21st 8pm and 22nd 3pm.
If CDC guidelines do not allow for an in-person performance, the concert will be presented digitally.
All pieces will be filmed in tech rehearsal for the choreographer's convenience.
The Byrdcliffe Theater in Woodstock has undergone a dramatic renovation during the winter & spring of 2021.
